The Left Wing Media Attempts to Resuscitate New Labour
It’s rather amusing yet at the same time rather nauseating to watch the left wing media try desperately to lift labour’s wilting leaves from the scorched top-soil of UK politics.
Alan Rusbridger’s Islamist, anti-’zionist’ ever-lurching-to-the-left daily rag has been working all hands to the pump to discredit the Tories and paint Labour as a force with guts and fuel left in the tank. See this latest story in its attempt to resuscitate the flagging, failing party.
All rather pathetic and see-through. The Independent takes an even further to the Left view on it all - you see, if only Labour went further leftwards and paid more attention to the ‘grassroots’ (ooh, what, like your readership? I think not) then all would be saved because the oppressed prols would come back in droves and save the evil capitalist courting fascist running dog party from the right wingers. See this article and this article in today’s ‘Not-so’ Independent.
Of course what’s so laughable is the fact that anyone with any political astuteness knows that the country is sick of what the left have offered up, past and present and the novelty of our little 1997 experiment has worn off. Most people are vaguely centre right leaning, always have been in Britain and will be for some time. The Indy’s pathetic, almost SWP-ish assertion that unpopularity comes with being not lefty enough is a joke and would only appeal to its student lolly pop union readership of temporary far left wingers and those folk that smoke pot and live in camden and recycle alot and generally have no idea of life outside of their trendy London / SE environs.
The lefty media is utterly London centric, and stacked with those lamentable white middle class liberal types that have no idea of what the country is really like, how people think and how things work.
So in their attempts to try and make sense of all this recent confusion and upset: “Oh no, the evil Tories are coming back, why oh why?!?! It must be the suburbian fascists’ fault! Oh woe is me!” they attempt to do the impossible. That is, they try to flog a dead horse back to life.
Best of luck! You silly daft wankers.
