In a slight tangent from our usual subject matter I wanted to do a quick review of what I, and many others, see as one of the greatest albums ever made.
For those of you that haven’t heard this 1999 album, go and buy it. I got it on release all those years ago and was blown away.
Fusing synthesizers, rock, strings, guitars, Neil Young-esque vocals and off the wall lyrics, what you are presented with is a sweeping landscape of the most amazing music the 1990’s produced. Hailed by many as the album of the decade and regularly voted album of the year, it is a truly astonishing piece of work that everyone should own.
The Lips have since gone on to much commercial success, but at the time they were a slightly inaccessible psychedelic group who like singing about metallic clouds and the such.
With this masterpiece they achieved little commercial success. At the time. It now sells well because of its deserved reputation as the Pet Sounds of its era, with its vocal harmonies and experimental other-worldly composition somehow coming together to create a totally gripping symphony for the soul.
Do yourself a favour and get this album. You will never regret it and your kids will respect you in a few years time when they stumble upon it in your collection.
And suddenly everything has changed.

Nothing seems to be easier than seeing someone whom you can help but not helping.
I suggest we start giving it a try. Give love to the ones that need it.
God will appreciate it.
