The Annoying Pointlessness of Terror Plot Warnings

Labour ministers really get on my tits. Not only are many Labour MPs awarded utterly ridiculous and Orwellian sounding made up ministries, like “Justice Minister” and “Security Minister”  but they are utterly pointless and useless in utterly pointless useless positions.

It used to be a case of having about a dozen ministries, and security and home affairs was basically handled by the Home Secretary and the boss of Mi5. Now, for some inane reason, Labour have expanded government as though it were a prize pumpkin being prepared for some big prize pumpkin show in the Netherlands.

Have you even heard of Alan West before? Apparently he’s “Security Minister”. What a load of fucking bollocks.

Labour have upped the anti from the old Blair days of creating utterly futile “Tzars” ,who were supposed to amazingly solve everything, except they always end up being overpaid lemons. Now we have a number of people, all essentially doing the job the Home Secretary ought to be doing, but can’t because he/she can’t cope. Poor dears.

Here’s a quote from this very recent Reuters news piece on what this West penis has come out and told us all:

“Security minister Alan West warned on Tuesday that the threat of another major terrorist attack was “huge” and a “great plot” was building…”

What a bell end. Ok, let’s Demetriou this thing:

1) Even if there was a great threat of something about to happen, what possible gain can there be in telling the country? No-one is going to, for a variety of reasons, change what they are doing…and even if they did, how would they know that their change in routine would be helpful, given that a prospective attack could happen anywhere?

2) Given that there is always a constant threat, what are people expected to fucking do?

3) Do people really need to know?

4) How serious is the threat and what degree of wow factor should we be lending this news?

5) How do we know the government aren’t hamming it up, given its track record for talking bollocks on security (see that Heathrow fiasco of a few years back)

6) Isn’t it all a bit of a case of ‘cry wolf’?

7) Isn’t there a chance that coming out with this sort of revelation might either a) cause the terrorists to change their plans, or b) act sooner rather than later?

8 ) Could coming out with this stuff actually distract from other news going on at the moment?….to the government’s benefit no doubt.

9) Is it not a bit weird how all this has come out at a time that the 42 day detention bill got wrongun’d up the arse by the House of Lords?

10) It seems the Tories, during my time writing this, have responded to that wanker West.

What a shower of useless fuck heads they are in that god forsaken ‘Party’.

  2. They always talk up the threat when they want to get another draconian piece of legislation through, it simply insults our intelligence. It is quite clear from their actions and their words, that ministers and their representatives think the British people are idiots, perhaps we are, because we continue to let them get away with infringing our liberties and right to privacy, through further state snooping and control.

See, for example, what they are attempting to do with the Data Communications Bill. Not satisfied with the powers they already have, they want to extend them!

  4. Good analysis and thoughts but I got to believe it’s imperative to remind us all of the dangers that exist. MI6 and MI5 need to be part of the solution in all the issues you spoke of. Damn if you do and damn if you don’t is what you’re describing. I think is good to keep everyone aware of what lurks.

  5. I would never say anything different, regarding your point about Mi5 being part of the solution.

My contention is with the politicians who dish out these useless, pointless, counterintuitive statements about big plots and dangers.

It benefits no-one, bar those slimebag Labour ministers looking to maintain their positions.

  6. Thanks John. I too am an avid reader of Boatang & Demetriou. I enjoy your in depth analysis as well as your free and frank comments. Even bad news can be well worth reading.
